Materials and Techniques
I use a combination of traditional and modern materials, tools, and techniques to meet the creative and technical requirements of each project.

This mosaic is 'Autumn', based on part of a Roman 4th century original in Tunisia. It has been made using handcut marble tesserae employing traditional techniques.
The images show various stages of its development using lime putty, marble dust and rabbit skin glue.

The finished mosaic measures approximately 3ftx4ft (90cmx120cm).
As this is a wall piece the mosaic is designed to be ungrouted, allowing the texture of the marble to be shown off to its best effect.
Materials
The primary mosaics materials are:
Natural stone
Marble
Italian Venetian Smalti (Glass)
Natural pebbles
Unglazed ceramic
Semi precious materials

I only use the best backing boards for the work to ensure durability.
