An invitation to join us in the heart of the beautiful countryside of Haute Saone, France for an introduction to making mosaic.
The course, which will be taught in English, is intended for those with little or no previous experience of making mosaic
The course will be run in Ormoy, Haute Saone, France, and inspiration will be taken from the region’s rich Gallo Roman history
The package includes four nights acommodation, lunch and evening meal at Maison Le Roux, the chambre d’hote and home of Charlotte and acclaimed artist Harry Dam
Course Contents
How to lay tiles and make mosiac in the roman style using indirect and direct methods.
How to cut tiles using nippers and traditional hammers and chisels. using ceramic and marble provided.
Structure
First two days - create a framed roman mosaic in ceramic using an indirect method from designs provided.
Rest of the week - create a mosaic in marble using a traditional hammer and chisel.
There will be time to discuss own projects and different techniques throughout the course.
During the week there will be one or two trips to mosaic sites nearby.
Cost
€600 which covers the course, materials, and 4 nights accomodation, breakfast, lunch and evening meal at Maison Le Roux*
